Breaking the stereotype - The real Acting

When we talk about a movie, where do we actually want to focus. What pushes us to talk about a movie? Which stereotypes we follow while discussing a movie? it depends person to person and their likings. Some appreciate the storyline, some focus on the handsomeness or the physique of the actor, some want to talk about the smile of the character.

But that all comes down and can not help a movie to transform from dirt to the diamonds. Six pack abs can't help to earn 323 crore INR with a minimal budget of only 14 crore INR. This is an unimaginable box office collection for such a low budget movie 'Hindi Medium', released on 19 May 2017. It simply broke the bollywood records and stereotypes.

Considering the importance of all other great characters in the movie, I would like to talk about the lead actor in Hindi Medium, "Irfan Khan". The guy with the eyes you can dive into, the unique smile, the natural dialogue deliveries and more. You don't wanna know the number of abs he has, you just wanna fall along with the script when he performs on the screen of a theatre, of your laptop, mobile, etc. This simple movie script was brought alive by his acting skills. Among his various outstanding characters in the previous movies, he nailed this one too.

While everyone was busy with the collection of the movie and were celebrating, Irfan khan was playing the role of a cancer patient, this time in front of the God's camera. He made himself ready for the next movie, 'English Medium' and acted brilliantly in this one too. Just after a few days of its release 13 March 2020, Corona looked at India too and the movie couldn't be released in the theatres due to the lockdown situation. The movie could earn only 13 crore INR with the budget being 36 crore INR this time.

No doubts, the movie was critically acclaimed and would have earned more than the prequel had it not been the lockdown situation this time. Certainly, it was a loss from the business point of few, but what came next, was a loss for the complete Bollywood. On 29 April 2020, we lost Irfan Khan at 53 in this lockdown itself as he put his fight with the mere cancer at stop and left just 5 days after his mother.

Although he is no more, but he will prevail within us life long as the bench mark he has set for the Indian Cinema, is just sky high. He has broken the stereotypes which gave importance to the good looks, six pack abs and many other non relevant to acting bullshits. He has performed in lot of Hollywood movies and has been appreciated world wide. Starting from the DD National's tv shows, he has acted in great Bollywood hits and we can understand why his acting roots were so deep.

Rest in Peace Sir 🙏
